Our Governor has spent a lot of time and resources this year trying to take food out of the mouths of the hungry people in our community. It’s disgusting and infuriating and you better believe we called her out on it.

So with your help, and with our partners the New Mexico Center on Law and Poverty, we ran one Human Services Department (HSD) Secretary out of her post. Then we got the federal government to investigate and bring to light the fraud our Governor and her administration undertook.

Yes, you read right. Nine HSD employees testified in court that they were directed to defraud families out of food assistance. Seriously.

So you helped us fight our Governor and her sidekicks to simply administer the program the Feds are paying for to feed our people.

You stood with SWOP to tell the world how awful our Governor treats her people. Then you helped us stop her.

You came with us on the bus to the hearings.
You told your stories at the town halls.
You made #FightHungerNotTheHungry a battle cry.

And we love you for it.
