Dear ,

You know that feeling when you can't get a song out of your head? As I was writing this letter, I kept singing to myself, "We are family! Get up everybody and sing!"

I have been thinking about the SWOP family and all the good work we do for one another. As a fellow SWOPista, I want you to join me in singing about the awesome people in our family.

Let's sing a song for people like Esteban Cabrera Durán.

Esteban had been involved with the SWOP Youth Organizing program for the past three years:

"When I was in school, I had friends, but I never felt like I really belonged until I became part of SWOP and I realized I really want to change my community and these are people who share the same purpose."

Esteban was recruited to SWOP by his sister, Nancy, an active youth member for several years. In their time at SWOP, Esteban and Nancy have helped craft the Student Bill of Rights and met with elected officials to get the Bill passed as a memorial in last year's legislative session.

"I've done several workshops during summer programs around the Student Bill of Rights and it's great to see how I can connect and develop as a facilitator." Esteban explains.

None of this is possible without you.

Why you ask?

Because your support allows us to create spaces where families can thrive. From our community gardens or through providing childcare at all our meetings, SWOP is a place for la familia.

Your support helps create spaces where the entire family can work towards change together:

The real credit goes to the families around New Mexico for putting in the hard work to realize change in our communities, but to be as effective as possible, we need your help.

To create more workshops and family spaces this year, we need to raise $7000.

With your contribution, we can.

Your support helps us organize rich family experiences that we love to see:

When you donate to SWOP, you're investing in multiple generations fighting for change. You're investing in your community's past, current, and future political leaders and activists.

Please make your donation today.

I'm so grateful for your support of nuestra familia.

In solidarity,

Emma Sandoval
