Join with communities from across the state to protect SNAP benefits for all New Mexicans.
The Farm Bill currently proposed in Congress would increase work requirements for SNAP participants. Without child care, job training and job readiness support, and almost non-existent public transportation in rural parts of the state, New Mexicans dealing with some of the fewest job prospects and highest food insecurity in the nation are sending a clear message that these changes will only hurt New Mexico families.New Mexicans already rejected two attempts by Governor Martinez to impose costly and similarly ineffective work requirements.
Sign the petition and to send the message that we can't afford to cut SNAP benefits to vulnerable New Mexicans at a time when our economy is one of the worst in the country!
